Over the weekend, more than 2,000 children have flocked to the lawns of Fornebu; over 206 teams from 49 different clubs have played in the Meny Fornebu Cup. Nansen looks on from his vantage point at the top of the hill, alongside dedicated coaches, parents, siblings, grandparents, extended family and friends. There was simply a hive of activity in the park this weekend, the delightful scent of waffles, cakes and coffee from the stalls, and smiling children and adults wherever you turned.
Out on the football pitch are many aspiring young footballers, excited and happy all at once. Butterflies in their stomachs, focused eyes on the ball, practising their skills, chatting a little with a teammate, pulling on a goalkeeper jersey and sweaty keeper gloves. The referee blows the whistle, the match is under way. Eager legs run, pass, dribble, try a shot.. They may still be small, but it means so much to have great surroundings for events like this.
Around the course hang course posters, and along the paths guide flags have been put up, along with beach flags as a welcome at the entrance gates. Information posters are set up all around, for those who need to find the right course, those who are just a bit hungry, or perhaps need the loo. A red carpet has been rolled out by the prize podium, which is flanked by advertising signs.
All this gives the tournament a professional feel and a professional setup – the children deserve that!
Fornebu Football Club has organised the tournament this weekend, and has really made a massive effort to get this tournament off the ground, and we at CopyCat have been proud partners.
Akylite is a 3 mm lightweight panel with a honeycomb core, which makes the panel strong and stable. It is also moisture-resistant. It is suitable for many purposes; here it is used as an advertising sign in front of the winners’ podium. The board is, of course, 100% recyclable.
Beach flag
The beach flags flutter in the winds and are visible from a long distance, the flags can be supplied with a cross base or ground spike.
The paths in the area were marked with these flags made of 300gsm matt paper in A4 size, mounted on wooden poles of approx. 70 cm.
We managed to exchange a few words during a hectic football weekend, with the chairman of Fornebu football club, Aksel Solvang.
