Extremely locally produced labels were the solution when Orkla Foods Norge tested its new «På farten» meal concept» for sale in-store.
Healthy and fresh ready meals such as bowls and wraps are part of the new concept that Orkla is currently developing. But before you can grab a «On the go» wrap in your local grocery store, Orkla will carry out several testing phases – to be completely sure that this is actually something consumers like you and me want.
– Our goal is to get as many real test results as possible. In this case, we started by testing nine different products in the Rema 1000 store at Tøyen Torg to check interest, says Martin Skraastad, business developer at Orkla.
Needed professional labels – and rather urgently
Orkla usually tends to order millions of packaging items from abroad. But this time they needed a partner that could produce a smaller number of labels quickly, and often on very short notice – in a quality material that could withstand spills. Fortunately, help was not far away.
– We have some very pleasant neighbours right across the street on Skøyen, namely CopyCat. We looked at different types labels and materials, and then we found the best ones together. The result turned out exactly as we had imagined, thanks to an incredibly good collaboration, says Martin.

With «On the go» labels in place, the products could be sent out to stores – along with in-store material, also printed by CopyCat. And the sales? Well, they sold like hot cakes.

The products looked brilliant with these labels, and we got fantastic results. You shouldn't turn your nose up at quality, really. It's a simple way to appear more professional.
Soon to be best customer?
But it is not just labels that Orkla Foods Norge has received help with from the good neighbour at Skøyen.
– After we realised how much fun they can create, we’ve used them for loads of other things internally, like printing posters, T-shirts and roll-ups. CopyCat can simply do anything within print!
What is so great about CopyCat is that they can deliver extremely quickly – and on top of that, they are awfully nice people.

And when Martin drops by CopyCat to discuss colour tones, creasing or perhaps just to have a chat, the atmosphere is not particularly stiff.
– I joke with them and say that I must be one of their best customers soon, because I keep getting invoices from CopyCat. But I'm apparently only in third place, hehe.
Pallet position is good, but do you have ambitions to reach the very top?
– We are, at any rate, so pleased with CopyCat that we are looking into the possibility of keeping them on board even when we scale up the project. What is so great about CopyCat is that they can deliver extremely quickly – and they are awfully nice people, concludes business developer Martin Skraastad.
