There are not many products that can boast of being made of a strong material, whilst simultaneously having a low weight, and a surface that is perfect for digital printing. The board is easy to shape and rout; not only that, but this material is FSC-certified. We are, of course, talking about Koala Air-board, which is an innovative material made from a kraft paper honeycomb structure – light in weight, yet surprisingly strong and stable. What is kraft paper?
Kraft paper is a type of paper that has undergone a process which leaves more fibres in the finished paper material. This kraft pulp process gives the paper tear resistance, good durability and strength. It is perfectly suited for printing and cutting, and offers creative opportunities for visual communication, interior design and sustainable constructions. The board is perfect for marketing and campaign materials for the shop, event, pop-up stand, showroom or exhibition.
Sustainability and FSC certification
CopyCat is committed to using sustainable materials; Coala Air-Board is a sheet made from 100% kraft paper and a honeycomb core produced from recycled fibres. This material can be sorted alongside cardboard packaging, making it easy to recycle after use. FSC stands for Forest Stewardship Council® and is an independent organisation that works to promote responsible forestry and maintain the balance between environmental, social and economic aspects of forestry. The organisation was founded in Toronto in 1993 and has over the years grown to become the world's most widespread certification system. We have made a bookcase, a bench and a clothes rack, out of Coala Air-Board, which are on display in our showroom at Fornebu. The furniture is custom-designed, printed with colours that complement the walls in the room. A very striking display for our products! This furniture is easy to assemble and can withstand heavy loads; the bench is strong enough to sit on, and we have also made chairs from the same material. We can also produce exhibition walls and exhibition counters – it is simply the imagination that sets the limits for what we can design with this material.
