After 15 years in Ski town centre, CopyCat has moved out of town. – We had outgrown the premises in the town centre and needed more space, says general manager Kalle Solvang.
We meet two satisfied chaps visiting the spacious and modern production premises at Nygårdsveien 49. Kalle and Per Erik, as owners and operators of the branch, were tired of having to slalom between the machines in the shop in Ski town centre.
– It got too small and cramped for us, so when the lease expired we saw it as a golden opportunity to get something larger. The new premises are adapted to our production, which means that the production flow is going to go much better, Kalle says.
The first day at the new address was 13th June, but a few details still remain before they are completely settled.
– We are looking forward to getting proper signs and window film, says Per Erik.
A department that produces everything
Although CopyCat Ski has no more than two employees, an extensive and upgraded machinery park including a glue binder and a cutting table ensures they can produce pretty much everything. The department has built up a loyal customer base in Nordre Follo and Ås over many years, says Per Erik, adding that they have actively utilised the opportunities inherent in being located in a municipality with strong growth:
– We saw that there was going to be major construction activity in Ski municipality for years to come, and that is why we chose, among other things, to focus on the production of construction drawings. Not many people have the equipment for this, and we are noticing that demand is high.
Among other products that sell in large quantities, Per Erik highlights brochures. In addition, sales of large format are increasing steadily. Now the duo in Ski are looking forward to a working day with more elbow room – and better parking facilities for customers.
– Out here there are plenty of customer parking spaces, something we didn't have access to in the town centre.
They are not in doubt for a second that it was the right decision to move:
– According to general manager Geir, we currently have CopyCats' finest branch, says Kalle with a grin.
